Student Health EU

The LTT activities in Slovenia took place from 3rd October to 7th October 2022. There were five participants from each country (Sweden, Reunion – France, Austria, Spain), two teachers and three students.

The topic of the event was Encouraging physical and psychological learning environment, so our aim was to show our guests how we provide it. Through different activities during the week we tried to show some active methods of learning and ways to establish a supportive learning environment, enabling students to get and stay motivated throughout the learning process.

Together with our students we prepared a cultural event to welcome our guests. We wanted to show them that our students are actively involved in all our school performances. Teambuilding activities for students and teachers helped us all to get to know each other and to connect. To raise awareness of the cultural differences, we asked each partner school to prepare a presentation and a stand presenting their country, town and school. A quiz on how well we know the countries involved followed.

A Slovenian orienteering champion explained us the rules and goals of this sport and then it was our turn to see how good we were at it. It was a nice experience and our guests learnt a lot about our town.

While the teachers had a workshop on ESEP platform, the students joined some relaxing afternoon activities outside. Local scouts prepared some outdoor activities and tasks which could be completed successfully only by collaborating well.

Visiting our capital city and lake Bled was a must and the bonds between us all were stronger every day. Since our students are younger, we visited some secondary vocational schools in our town to enable the guests to experience the school life at secondary school.

The students and teachers together discussed the learning environment in their own schools focusing on what is good and what needs to be improved. We shared some examples of good practice and learnt from each other.

Of course, the guests observed some lessons at our school as well, focusing on how the teachers provide stimulating learning environment. After taking part in some teambuilding activities focusing on physical and mental health it was time for evaluating the whole week and discussing some future project events and activities.

Saying goodbye was the most difficult part of the event. We were proud of ourselves and grateful for all the wondeful moments we could have spent together.

We tried to actively involve as many teachers and students as possible in the LTT activities. All the members of our school Erasmus+ project team were really active in planning the mobility and once again we proved it that teamwork leads to a greater success. All the students were really eager to take part in the mobility, especially the ones who are »Health ambassadors« at our school. We included some local participants as well.

Both, the students and teachers, benefitted a lot from the project, they all improved their English, gained new knowledge of health, learnt about new cultures, built a better self-confidence and responsibility. The teachers got more experienced in international cooperation, project work and teamwork as well. We definitely learnt a lot by sharing examples of good practise. The relationships between the teachers and students involved in the project improved.
